Deborah Kallmann: Poppies Teacher
Deborah received her Master's degree in cultural anthropology and history at the University of Arizona. Her focus was on education from a cross-cultural perspective. She was born in Zambia, Central Africa and has lived in various places both internationally and in the US. She has been an adjunct visiting lecturer at University of Rhode Island, Rhode Island College, and the University of Missouri's Honors College. With her daughters she participated in Waldorf parent-child programs both in Richmond, RI and Cambridge, England. She has completed one year of Waldorf Foundation Studies at Shining Rivers School, St. Louis; will participate in a summer training program 2009, and will work further with Master Waldorf teacher, Glenda Moore, in St. Louis. Sarah Linsenmeyer: Buttercups Teacher
Sarah holds a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Missouri and is a licensed clinical social worker. Prior to her work with Garden Gate, Sarah worked as a play therapist with Mid-Missouri Mental Health Center. When introduced to Waldorf Education several years ago through family and friends, Sarah immediately recognized Waldorf as an inspiring and therapeutic education that she wanted to bring to her children and others in the Columbia community. Sarah currently mentors with Glenda Moore, a master Waldorf teacher at Climbing Rose in St. Louis, Mo. Sarah will participate in a summer training program 2009. Anita "Omi" Kallmann: Buttercup Assistant
Anita was born in S. Africa, and for several years lived in a beautiful farm in the Northern Transvaal. She later moved to Zambia, Central Africa where she married Peter Kallmann and raised two children (one of which is Deborah). The Kallmann family moved to the US in the mid 1970s. Anita and her husband Peter settled in Columbia in 2006. She has been an assistant to Sarah Linsenmeyer for one year. Her two granddaughters, Hannah and Amalia, are both involved in Garden Gate.
Molly Campbell
Molly has been Deborah Kallmann’s Assistant in the Garden Gate Kindergarten this past year and recently graduated from MU with a degree in Sociology. She has worked in a Waldorf School in Barcelona and a Waldorf-inspired school in Guatemala. Molly was one of the lead teachers in "Elements", Garden Gate's Summer Camp, 2010.
