Early Childhood

The heart of the Waldorf method is the conviction that education is an art – it must speak to the child’s experience. To educate the whole child his heart and will must be reached as well as his mind.
-Rudolf Steiner

Early Childhood ProgramsAll of the programs offer three through six year olds the security of rhythmic activities attuned to nature; songs, stories and circle time that speak to their imaginations, plenty of time outside playing, building with what nature provides and taking care of the garden. Young children imitate the world around them and we seek to provide a beautiful environment and purposeful activities. Older children benefit from this same pattern, along with more complex stories, wet-on-wet painting and beeswax sculpting.

We offer two (“Poppies”), three (“Buttercups”) and five-day (“Sunflowers”) programs. Our Morning Kingergarten runs from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. with Miss Sarah Linsenmeyer.

Early Childhood ProgramsOur Early Childhood programs offer a rhythmic pattern of activities, including circle time, indoor play, wholesome meals, outdoor activities, and dramatic plays. Children will learn songs and stories that feed their imaginations and foster a rich vocabulary and love of language. Children will also have plenty of time outside exploring nature, building, and gardening. Young children imitate the world around them and we seek to provide a beautiful environment and a variety of purposeful activities that enrich our children’s hearts, bodies, and minds.
