“The heart of the Waldorf method is the conviction that education is an art — it must speak to the child’s experience. To educate the whole child his heart and will must be reached as well as his mind.”
- Rudolf Steiner

Garden Gate seeks to enrich the lives of mid-Missouri children, their families, and communities. Garden Gate is largely inspired by Waldorf pedagogy and believes in honoring early childhood as a time to imitate and explore through experience; engaging young imaginations through storytelling; attending to the rhythms, cycles, and patterns of nature in all we do; and awakening the child’s capacities to live  joyfully with others. Our school has been in operation since 2007, inspiring families to simplify their lives and address their needs holistically.

We offer 2, 3, and 5-day programs for children ages three through six, as well as parent-child classes on Saturdays for younger children. In using both age and individually appropriate experiences and materials, we hope to nurture the grounds of adult intellectual creativity, health and love of learning.

Food for Thought

“A healthy social life is found only, when in the mirror of each soul the whole community finds its reflection, and when in the whole community the virtue of each one is living” — Rudolf Steiner
